Abstract
I believe so simple because reptiles use UV markings. Don't get me wrong a LED across the whole Viv is a great improvement for ambient light but fluorescent does ambient light better.
I have a skink with led ambient light and one with LED plus fluorescent and I noticed the skink without the fluorescent wasn't eating as much fruit and spent more time under substrate. After adding a T5 that skink started eating more fruit and more above ground time like my other skink. When I redo all my Viv's I will not be using any LED but a combination of fluorescent and metal halide.
